Sean Doyle has reportedly joined Disney+ as director of original production, unscripted general entertainment, for Europe and Africa, with Broadcast breaking the news.

Doyle joins the family-focused streamer from Channel 4, where he has served as deputy head of features and formats since September 2018. Before that, he was a commissioning editor at Channel 5 and head of development for BBC Features Formats and Daytime. In his new role, Doyle (pictured) will report to Liam Keelan, Disney’s VP of original content for Europe and Africa.

Disney+ has committed to content geared to entertain the entire family, and so far has been leaning into unscripted programming. In 2020, the streamer commissioned a number of new competition series, including The Quest and The Maze, as well as docuseries Meet the Chimps. It’s also giving audiences a peek behind the House of Mouse curtain with a docuseries about Pixar’s shorts program and a 52-episode series that explores life at Disney.
