9 Story Media Group has brought in a number of new execs to power up its distribution, development, legal and technology teams. The hires come as the Toronto-based prodco continues to focus on international growth and developing its in-house capabilities.

Taking on a new VP of live action, development and production role is Gráinne McNamara (pictured, top right). She will lead 9 Story’s development efforts for original live-action series for kids and family, reporting to CCO Angela Santomero. McNamara previously served as head of live-action development for The Walt Disney Company.

McNamara comes in just after Joss Duffield (pictured, top left), who was named VP of distribution for Europe in April. Based in the UK, Duffield reports to SVP of distribution and acquisitions Alix Wiseman, with responsibility for the company’s business in Western Europe. She joined the team from Turner, where she served as director of content licensing. Duffield also previously worked for Entertainment One and FremantleMedia.

Jennifer Bol (pictured, bottom left) was named SVP of legal and business affairs. She will establish global in-house practices and develop the organization’s legal and regulatory framework. A qualified lawyer in both Canada and the UK, Bol previously served as 9 Story’s director of legal and business affairs from 2012 to 2015. She has also worked at DHX Media and Blue Ant Media.

Finally, Boris Beaubien (pictured, bottom right) has joined as VP of technology, reporting to COO Cathal Gaffney. Beaubien was previously a production technology consultant for Sesame Workshop, and served as VP of television production technologies for Nickelodeon.
