Paris-based studio TeamTO is partnering with Federation Kids & Family for animated comedy series Presto! School of Magic. The French distributor will manage all television rights outside of China in an agreement that marks the first collaboration between the two companies.

Presto! School of Magic is produced by TeamTO with Panache Productions and La Compagnie Cinématographique, and is based on Studio Canal’s CG-animated feature film School of Magic. The movie hit theaters in 2013 and pulled in US$64.2 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.

TeamTO’s 52 x 11-minute comedy stars a group of kids attending a school for aspiring magicians. First pitched at Cartoon Forum in 2017, the show was identified as a priority for TeamTO creative development producer Mary Bredin when she joined the company in 2018. (At the time, Presto! School of Magic was being developed with Belgium’s Nexus Factory.) French broadcasters M6 and Canal+ have already picked up rights to the series.
