Sinking Ship Entertainment is ready to roar into retail with new Dino Dana toys. The Toronto prodco inked a deal with Florida toymaker Safari to launch a range of dinosaur figures.
The toys will be available through Amazon in time for holiday 2020. The agreement will also see Sinking Ship and Safari collaborate on additional consumer products.
These dinosaur figures follow in the footsteps of Dino Dana: Dino Field Guide, which was published by Miami-based Mango Publishing in May. Written by Sinking Ship’s executive producers J.J. Johnson, Christin Simms and head of research Colleen Russo Johnson, the book features scientific facts about dinosaurs as well as illustrations.
Sinking Ship’s focus on consumer products comes as the prodco’s theatrical and live-event plans for the property were put on hold by COVID-19. The brand’s first feature-length film Dino Dana The Movie was set to hit the big screen, but Sinking Ship was forced to pivot to a transactional VOD model when theaters around the world shuttered earlier this year.
