MIPCOM & MIPJunior to take place in person

After multiple shows were cancelled in response to the pandemic, Reed Midem is planning a hybrid physical and digital gathering for both events in October.

After moving April’s MIPTV online, Reed Midem is bringing back live events with MIPCOM and MIPJunior, which will take place as hybrid physical and digital events in October.

The physical event will be a bit different this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The French government is allowing trade shows and exhibitions with more than 5,000 attendees to take place as of September 1, subject to new assessments of conditions linked to the pandemic. As such, Reed Midem will regulate the flow and capacity of the exhibition hall. Onsite registrations will be reduced, and the majority of badges will be sent to participants before the event starts. And wearing a mask will be mandatory for all participants, service providers and Reed Midem staff.

Meeting spaces and conference rooms also have a new design to allow face-to-face meetings while respecting physical distancing measures. More information on the changes can be found on the MIPCOM website.

Meanwhile, the MIPCOM Online+ platform will be designed for anyone who can’t travel in the fall. The agenda is still being put together, and more information will be released at a later date. The MIPJunior screening library will be available online starting two weeks before the market takes place from October 10 to 11. Afterwards, the library will remain online for nine months. Additional information can be found on the MIPJunior website.

The 2020 edition of MIPCOM is not the first event to return in physical form. Cartoon Media is also going forward with Cartoon Forum as an in-person event in Toulouse, France from September 14 to 17.
