Kidscreen’s annual Hot50, which ranks and profiles the top companies in children’s entertainment across five categories, is now accepting submissions.
Applicants have until Friday August 7 to submit their company’s three biggest achievements from the last year (August 7, 2019 to August 7, 2020) through the Hot50 online form. Submissions can be made in more than one category—broadcasting, production, distribution, licensing and digital media—depending on the scope of a company’s business, and there is no cost to enter.
In October, Kidscreen’s registered newsletter and magazine subscribers will get the chance to vote in each category to determine 2020′s official rankings. Only Kidscreen subcribers can vote, and only once in each category.
Last year, streaming giant Netflix claimed the top spot in broadcasting for the sixth consecutive year, while 9 Story Distribution International and Spin Master were also returning champions in the distribution and licensing categories, respectively. In production, Toronto’s Guru Studio dethroned 9 Story Media Group, while PBS KIDS snagged the digital media crown from three-time winner YouTube Kids.
Companies that make it into this year’s Hot50 will be featured in a special digital issue launching in December, as well as a print insert distributed with 2,000 copies of Kidscreen‘s February/March issue at Kidscreen Summit 2021. Winners will take home a commemorative trophy during the annual Kidscreen Awards, and get showcased on Kidscreen’s dedicated Hot50 microsite.
If you think you’re worthy of making this year’s list, now’s the time to claim your spot.
