Nordic Entertainment Group’s (NENT) streamer Viaplay has picked up 500 episodes of kids content from Stockholm studio and distributor SF Studios.
Throughout the year new content will be added, including Saga StoriesĀ (pictured), the 10-part animated series co-produced by SF Studios and NENT. Based on the bestselling books by Swedish author Josefine Sundstrom for kids ages three to six, it was recently renewed for a second season, which will premiere on Viaplay in the spring.
SF distributes a lot of kids content in the Nordic region and is bringing Shaun the Sheep, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Fireman Sam, Robin Hood—Mischief in Sherwood and Monchhichi to the streamer. All content will be available in local language dubs and be added throughout the year.
Viaplay has been upping its original kids content efforts lately, teaming up with Moonbug to produce a spinoff of the Little Baby Bum brand Mia’s Magic Playground. It also worked with Peppy Pals to create a 16-episode namesake TV series in 2018.
