Mattel is shuffling its execs around, and has named Jason Horowitz (pictured, left) its new SVP of US marketing and head of global and digital media, to grow the company’s reach. Roberto Stanichi (pictured, right), is replacing Horowitz in the role of SVP of Hot Wheels and global head of vehicles.

Prior to the promotion, Horowitz held a number of exec roles at the company, including SVP and GM of entertainment partnerships, and VP of global marketing for Hot Wheels. He’ll reportto CCO Steve Totzke.

Stanichi will manage the car category and brand worldwide, and report to president and chief operating officer Richard Dickson. He returns to Mattel after working as the VP of marketing and global business unit lead for Toronto-based toy and entertainment company Spin Master in its preschool division. He previously worked at Mattel in 2013 to 2018 as the toyco’s VP of global marketing for action figures, as well as senior director of global marketing for Hot Wheels, director of marketing for North America, and senior marketing manager for boys and infant and preschool at Mattel Brazil.

Hot Wheels has been a growth driver for the toy and entertainment company in the last year, with its sales growing 25% to US$293.3 million in its Q3 2019 financial report, compared to Q3 2018. Mattel’s been focused on growing the car brand and last year it launched the new Hot Wheels Infinite Loop digital racing game, mixed-play digital game Hot Wheels Id, a monster truck live show in Europe, and announced its plans for a new Hot Wheels movie with Warner Bros.
