BBC Studios and the London-based Design Museum are partnering on an exhibition celebrating the CBeebies animated preschool series Hey Duggee. The Designing Duggee exhibition allows fans to explore the show’s characters and design process through early sketches and concepts from the creative team behind the series.
The exhibition is free and will be open to the public through the Design Museum until October 28, and then again from December 28 to January 6. Additionally, the Design Workshop with Hey Duggee experience, which encourages kids to create their own designs, will also open at the museum on December 28.
Hey Duggee is a Studio AKA production with BBC Studios. The show was nominated for this year’s British Academy (BAFTA) Children’s Awards and last year took home top honors in the director, digital and preschool animation categories.
The exhibition is the latest in a long line of location-based brand extensions. Other recent offerings in this space include Hasbro launching its first NERF-dedicated family entertainment center, Mattel opening a permanent indoor play attraction and Entertainment One partnering with Merlin Entertainments on the first-ever Peppa Pig World of Play.
