Toronto’s Boat Rocker Studios signed a master toy deal with Golden Bear for its upcoming kids show Love Monster. The agreement will see the British toyco launch plush, plastic, roleplay, bath and wooden toys, as well as electronic learning aids inspired by the series in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
The 54 x seven-minute animated preschool show is based on Rachel Bright’s book series of the same name. Set to launch on CBeebies in the UK in January, Love Monster is a collaboration between Boat Rocker Studios, BBC Children’s In-House Productions and China’s UYoung.
As the only monster in Fluffytown, the titular character learns to follow his heart as the series focuses on kindness, empathy and connection.
Earlier this month, Boat Rocker Studios promoted Gia DeLaney to SVP of global sales kids and family. In her new role DeLaney is responsible for worldwide distribution of the studio’s slate, including Love Monster, Kingdom Force, Dino Ranch, Remy & Boo, The Next Step and The Strange Chores.
Golden Bear previously signed on as master toy licensee for Acamar Film’s preschool series Bing and extended its global master toy partnership with DHX Brands’ preschool property Twirlywoos through 2020.
