HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, is building up its team with several key hires in the customer experience, strategy, product design and business operations departments.
The new hires come months after the appointments of Tony Goncalves, who oversees development for the nascent platform while also serving as CEO of Otter Media, which was acquired by WarnerMedia parent company AT&T in 2018; and Andy Forssell, previously with Otter Media and Hulu, as executive vice president and general manager of WarnerMedia direct-to-consumer.
Joining the team are Sarah Lyons, previously with DirecTV as VP of OTT media products, as SVP of product experience; Katie Soo, SVP of growth marketing who joins from her previous post as head of marketing at Warner Bros. Digital Networks; Keith Camoosa, as SVP of data insights and operations and most recently SVP of data intelligence at Warner Bros.; Jess Miller, previously part of the AT&T product development team, as VP of project management; Sean Kisker, former chief strategy officer at Lionsgate Entertainment, who joins HBO Max and Otter Media as EVP and chief strategy officer; Josh Walker, upped from SVP of distribution business affairs for HBO to chief strategy officer and EVP, financial planning for WarnerMedia Entertainment; and former Comcast Cable product development SVP, Jason Press, who joins WarnerMedia Entertainment as EVP, DTC engineering and program management.
The service, which recently unveiled its non-fiction team under Jennifer O’Connell as well as a new animated kid series with Ellen DeGeneres, is expected to launch in April of 2020.
