French entertainment and gaming company Ankama and its subsidiary producer-distributor Planet Nemo Animation are heading to MIP next month to shop their kids catalogues underĀ a single distribution brand called Planet Nemo by Ankama.

The brand will be led by Ankama’s Paris-based head of global distribution Marie Conge, who joined the company in May after serving as head of sales and business development for fellow French studio GO-N Productions (Simon). While Ankama and Planet Nemo will remain separate legal entities, going forward they will approach distribution as a single entity, which will make it simpler to handle meetings and relationships with customers and partners, Conge said in a statement

In her newly expanded role, Conge will oversee international sales and acquisition strategies for both companies’ animated kids TV series and movies. The combined catalogue consists of 600 half hours from popular Ankama shows including video game-based Wakfu, Dofus and new magic-themed comedy Abraca, as well as Planet Nemo preschool series Doodleboo, Kit and Kate and kids show Rita & Whatsit.

Planet Nemo by Ankama will also manage and market original programs from third-party producers. To support the brand, Alice CurieĀ has been hired as international sales manager and will look to secure all types of rights (linear and non-linear) across the entire catalogue. Territories will be split among the brand’s sales team, but Curie will mainly focus on Asia, Latin America, Eastern and Central Europe and the Middle East and Africa.

She previously worked as a youth and entertainment acquisitions exec for Turner France and in communications at Ubisoft.

Planet Nemo by Ankama is on the lookout for animation and live-action series, specials and movies for preschoolers to young adults in genres including comedy, education, adventure and anime.
