Jo Daris joins Toon2Tango as CCO

The former Studio 100/m4e exec reconnects with his old colleague Hans Ulrich Stoef to find and develop new content.

Burgeoning German prodco Toon2Tango has hired former Studio 100/m4e exec Jo Daris (Wissper) as its new chief creative officer. Daris is based in Germany and is working alongside Toon2Tango’s CEO (and former Studio 100/m4e CEO) Hans Ulrich Stoef.

The new CCO is tasked with sourcing and developing content for Toon2Tango, which is focused on animated content for six to 11s. Ulrich Stoef set up Toon2Tango this past July, with plans to bring three shows into production this year, three more next year and to create content in the US$3.8-million to US$5.6 million range. The prodco also closed a deal with Italian company Mondo TV to develop, produce and distribute up to eight animated projects, with Toon managing the new IPs’ branding and merchandising.

Prior to joining Toon2Tango, Daris was serving as the member of the advisory board for boutique prodco Fobic Films, while also working as a consultant for media production firm Tree to Grow. As a consultant, he worked with prodcos to set up sales structures, learn about media financing, and offer strategic analysis.

Daris has is no stranger to working with Ulrich Stoef. The two served together for years at Studio 100/m4e, where Daris worked his way up to head of operations before his departure in 2014. In his time at the studio, Daris also served as the EVP of strategy and development, where he was in charge of finding and developing content and exploring new business areas. Before joining Studio 100/m4e, Daris was the sales manager for Europe at Hasbro owned-game publisher Wizards of the Coast.
