Musical comedy show Centaurworld has been picked up by Netflix. The animated series from first-time showrunner Megan Nicole Dong follows a war horse trying to find her way home after she is transported to a magical land filled with centaurs.

Netflix committed to a 20-episode order, with each episode featuring original songs and a mix of animation styles.

Dong previously served as a story artist on DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. She then went on to become a supervising director on Netflix’s Pinky Malinky. Dong will executive produce Centaurworld alongside co-executive producer Dominic Bisignano (Star vs the Forces of Evil). Meghan McCarthy (My Little Pony franchise) will serve as story editor and Toby Chu (Bao) will be the series composer.

This series order comes amid a glut of Netflix animated original series currently in production, including City of Ghosts from Elizabeth Ito, Kid Cosmic from Powerpuff Girls creator Craig McCracken, the interactive series Battle Kitty from Matt Layzell, Maya and the Three from Jorge Gutierrez and Trash Truck from Max Keane. Mattel also recently announced Masters of the Universe: Revelation for Netflix, an anime reboot based on the toyco’s classic He-Man series.
