Nickelodeon has picked up Middle School Moguls, a new miniseries created and executive produced by Gengirl Media. Premiering September 8, the four x half-hour CG-animated specials chronicle the ambitions of four new friends who want to create their own companies while attending school.
Each special looks at life through a different “mogul-in-training,” voiced by Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, Daniella Perks (Knight Squad), Jade Pettyjohn (School of Rock) and Hayley Tju (Bell and the Bulldogs). Guest stars lined up include Tim Gunn (Project Runway), Jane Lynch (Glee) and JoJo Siwa.
The miniseries is based on a doll and book line created by sisters Gina and Jenae Heitkamp, who serve as co-executive producers.
Nickelodeon hasn’t done a lot of miniseries in the past, preferring to invest in longer episode orders. It’s the second limited-run series the kidcaster announced up in just two days, however: Produced by Universal Brand Development and the LEGO Group just yesterday, LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar will have a 13 episode run and will premiere on September 14.
