Apple is continuing to build on its content partnership with Halifax, Canada-based producer/distributor DHX Media with the new Peanuts-themed animated series Snoopy in Space, set to debut exclusively on Apple TV+ in the fall.
Ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the new series will see Snoopy—who dreams’ of becoming an astronaut are so well known that Apple and DHX have a “documentary” dedicated to the topic, more on that below—head to space after the Peanuts gang heads on a road trip to NASA and chosen for an elite mission into space. Series length and run time, as well as target audience haven’t been revealed yet.
This is the latest in a series of space-themed Peanuts content to roll out on the platform. This past May, Apple TV launched the partially-scripted doc Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10, which dives into the conspiracy that Snoopy was once part of that famed mission. DHX first partnered with Apple in December of last year, with plans to produce exclusive series, specials and shorts based on the legacy brand for Apple’s streaming platform.
