Disney has picked up the first two seasons of the animated preschool series Bluey to premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+.

It will premiere internationally on the Junior linear channel, and the upcoming SVOD in all territories, outside of Australia, New Zealand and Greater China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), in fall 2019.

Created by Joe Brumm and produced by Brisbane-based Ludo Studio for the Australia Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios, the 52 x seven-minute series first launched at Asian Animation Summit in 2016. It then premiered on ABC in Australia last year and went on to land the number one spot among all shows on ABC’s VOD app iview, pulling in more than 90 million views.

On top of the broadcast deals, Australian toyco Moose Toys has also signed on as the global master toy partner, excluding Asia. The first toys will hit shelves in Australia for Christmas 2019, followed by a range in the US and other regions for fall/winter 2020.
