Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its live-action comedy Sydney to the Max.
Produced by Disney’s It’s a Laugh Productions (Hannah Montana), the show for six- to 14-year-olds takes place in the present and the ’90s, and revolves around the relationship between a middle-schooler and her single dad. Production on season two will begin this summer, but Disney Channel has not said how many episodes it will include, or when it will be completed.
The 15 x 24-minute season one airs on Disney Channel in the US and is available on the DisneyNOW app. Created and executive produced by Emmy-nominee Mark Reisman (Frasier, Wings), the series premiered in January.
This second season order comes as the kidsnet beefs up its content with a number of renewals. Earlier this month, Disney Chanel ordered a second season of Disney Television Animation’s animated series Amphibia, ahead of the season one premiere on June 17. The House of Mouse also ordered a third season of Big Hero 6 The Series, ahead of its season two debut on May 6.
