London’s CAKE Entertainment has grabbed the worldwide distribution rights to Treasure Trekkers. A new CGI-animated adventure series based on J.S. Friedman’s popular children’s book series Maurice’s Valises, the show is produced by the author’s TT Productions and Canary Islands-based animation partner B-Water Animation Studios.

The series follows a trio of heroic mice who travel the world as preservers and protectors of priceless artifacts, exploring themes of empathy and respect along the way. Friedman is executive producing the 52 x 11-minute series alongside former-Lazytown Entertainment EVP and EP Agust Ingason. Oscar-nominated director Thierry Marchand (Oktapodi) and head writer Andy Yerkes (Yoko) round out the creative team.

The producers are shopping the series’ first five episodes at MIPTV this week in Cannes, France. Broadcast partners and a delivery date are yet to be announced.

Since Mouse Prints Press launched the first Maurice’s Valises title in 2013, an additional 12 books have been published and the property expanded digitally with a trio of game apps for iOS and Android.
