UK kid pubcaster CBBC has ordered a second season of Beano Studios’ animated series Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! The 52 x 11-minute episode order will follow Dennis and his group of friends as they cook up crazy plans.
Launched in 2017, it was the highest-rated animated show on CBBC for six-to 12-year-olds and a top-10 show for kids across all channels. The first season has been sold to distributors in 24 countries, including free-to-air broadcasters RTL (Germany), RAI (Italy) and France Télévision. UK-based Jetpack serves as the distributor on the series and recently inked new deals for the show on Emirates Cable (United Arab Emirates), VTMKIDS (Belgium), TV Derana (Sri Lanka), TVNZ (New Zealand), ClanTVE (Spain), SVT Barnkanalen (Sweden) and RTÉ (Ireland).
CBBC has been busy recently, racking up 31 nominations at the British Academy Children’s Awards in October, not to mention picking up a raft of new and renewed content yesterday, including Classed Dismissed (season five), The Dog Ate My Homework (season seven), Can You Kick It (season two) and The Worst Witch (season four), as well as Hetty Feather (season six) for 2020.
