Former Canal+ exec sets up kids shop

The ex-senior acquisitions manager Chrystel Poncet is striking out on her own with the launch of kids consulting company MaGic C.

Chrystel Poncet, former senior acquisitions manager for children’s channels at the Canal+ Group, has just launched her own company after 11 years at the French broadcaster.

MaGic C is in business to advise broadcasters, producers, OTT platforms and government bodies on kids TV development, offering creative solutions in the areas of editorial, marketing, acquisitions, sales and business development. Its first client is French prodco Cross River Productions, which is looking to grown in the market through the development of several new projects. MaGic C is also working with kids publisher Bayard Group to create a Bayam app, as well as collaborating with Andarta Pictures to adapt Pierre Bottero’s bestselling novels Quest of the Ewilan.

Before her time at Canal+, Poncet was the head of PR for French broadcaster TPS, and she started her career leading PR for the children’s department at France Télévisions.
