LA’s Atomic Toybox Entertainment is partnering with UK distributor CAKE on an upcoming Captain Action series inspired by the 1960s action figure brand (pictured).

In this action-comedy for  six- to 11-year-olds, Captain Action is reactivated after nearly 50 years of dormancy when a boy discovers him packed away in the attic. The mixed-media show will blend CGI action figures interacting with children in the real world.

CAKE and Atomic Toybox are currently in talks with potential toy partners and studios. (New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures has a first-look deal with Atomic for all kids television properties.) The US studio invested in the superhero action figure brand from Captain Action Enterprises back in 2017.
