Toronto-based Guru Studio has appointed Playmates Toys as global master toy partner for its upcoming preschool series Pikwik. The agreement will see Playmates launch figures, playsets, vehicles, plush and roleplay items everywhere in the world except China.

Pikwik was picked up by Disney Junior last year, and is set to hit screens in the US, Australia/New Zealand, Korea and India in 2020. Guru has also inked a broadcast deal with US streamer Hulu for the 52 x 11-minute series, which centers around a hedgehog, raccoon, cat and hippo running a parcel delivery service.

Guru recently brought in Aurora World to develop a range of plush toys inspired by preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom, in the wake of its original master toy partner Toy State going out of business in August. Aurora’s plush line will hit shelves in the US and Canada this fall.
