Canada’s Blue Ant Media has partnered with broadcaster services company iKO Media Group to expand the reach of its ZooMoo and Love Nature kids channel brands across Latin America.

Based in Switzerland, iKO has already started distributing children’s nature net ZooMoo (HD), all-ages factual channel Love Nature (HD), Love Nature (4K) and Love Nature (HD Brazil) to millions of LatAm customers using Intelsat 11’s satellite coverage. And Blue Ant is leveraging additional services from iKO, including content protection encryption system Viaccess 6.0 and the transmission of ZooMoo LatAm through iKO’s Italian teleport.

ZooMoo features more than 500 hours of original nature- and wildlife-based preschool content (pictured, Fluffy’s Rhyme Time), while Love Nature is a joint-venture between Blue Ant and Smithsonian Networks that airs family-friendly factual content produced in-house.

The partnership with Intelsat is similar to a deal that Blue Ant/iKO set up in February 2018 with global satellite operator Eutelsat to make the same four channels available to a wider audience across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Eutelsat has been running the channels for a few months now.

Blue Ant originally picked up ZooMoo in 2017 when it bought media organization Racat Group and its five prodcos and TV networks in Asia-Pacific. To bolster growth in US-Hispanic and LatAm markets, Blue Ant recently named brought in former Fox exec Julio Sobral as regional GM.
