UK-based preschool learning and entertainment app Hopster is launching a second season of its original series Two Minute Tales next month. Offering a new take on Grimm’s fairytales, the 10 x two-minute new episodes will focus on challenging traditional gender-norms and promoting diversity.
The new season will feature alternative families such as same-sex parents in “The Very Competitive Mermaid” and in “The Little Wooden Boy” (pictured) will encourage kids to be inclusive and accept each other’s differences. Commissioned by Hopster Studios, and produced by Cheshire-based animation prodco The Consortium of Gentleman, it originally premiered in August 2017 and became one of the SVOD app’s most-watched shows.
This past year Hopster grew its reach well beyond its own app, launching its content on Scottish pubcaster STV, on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 service, OTT streamer Sling TV in the US and DISH’s set-top box and Anywhere app.
