Irish distributor Monster Entertainment has signed several new broadcast deals for Wiggleywoo Productions’ The Day Henry Met…? in the US, Canada, Spain and France.
Marking its first Stateside sale, US pay-TV service Condista has acquired the first three seasons of the animated preschool series for its Spanish- and English-language Kids Central service, and plans to start running them in May. And Canadian pubcaster TVO has picked up the rights to season three.
Meanwhile, across the pond, TV3 Catalunya bought all four seasons and will start airing the show in Spain this year. And France’s OCS and TF1 have acquired VOD rights for their respective digital services.
The Day Henry Met…? centers around the adventures had by a curious four-year-old who wants to learn more about the world by asking questions. Produced by Ireland’s Wiggleywoo, the series first went into production in 2015 and premiered on Irish pubcaster RTÉ Television’s preschool channel RTÉjr before rolling out on Nick Jr. in 178 countries and selling to free TV and SVOD platforms. Season four has recently gone into production and will be completed this summer.
These new deals for the series follow a recent agreement with Channel 5’s preschool block Milkshake! for the exclusive UK free-to-air rights. In licensing news, Egmont Polska recently picked up the publishing rights to release a series of books n Poland this spring. And brand management agency Team Entertainment signed on early last year to create a consumer products program in Italy.
