Boat Rocker merges teams under Boat Rocker Studios

The newly merged division will be headed up by Jon Rutherford, who has been promoted to managing director of Boat Rocker Studios.

Boat Rocker Media (BRM) is consolidating its content, distribution and brands teams under the Boat Rocker Studios banner, with an eye to making further financial investments in kids and family content for the global marketplace.

Leading the newly merged mega-team will be Jon Rutherford (pictured), who’s been promoted to managing director of Boat Rocker Studios. He will now oversee all of BRM’s content teams—including Jam Filled Entertainment, Radical Sheep and the partnership with Industrial Brothers—on top of continuing to lead the company’s distribution and rights management business. He will report jointly to CRO Michel Pratte and co-executive chairmen/co-chief creative officers David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg.

The news comes at the end of a busy year that has seen BRM acquire Fremantle’s kids and family business, Insight Productions and Matador Content.
