Nickelodeon is preparing to premiere Spin Master’s new animated preschool series Abby Hatcher on Nick Jr. in the US starting January 1. Following the US launch, the show will start debuting on Nick’s international channels and branded blocks throughout the year.
Leading up to the linear launch, new short-form content and the entire first episode will be available on NickJr.com, the Nick Jr. app, Nick Jr. VOD and DTO starting December 17.
Created and produced by Toronto, Canada’s Spin Master Entertainment, Abby Hatcher tells the story of a seven-year-old girl who lives in a world where humans coexist with Fuzzlies, creatures with unique abilities that need Abby’s help to solve problems. The 26-episode toon is the ninth series from the studio behind PAW Patrol, and is executive produced by Ronnen Harary and Laura Clunie. It was first announced in 2016 as part of Nickelodeon’s multi-year strategy to double-down on preschool programming over five years.
Spin Master recently hired former Guru Studio director Jamie Whitney to run the show. He was previously the original director for PAW Patrol and has also directed several shows for 9 Story, including Max and Ruby.
