New York’s Surge Licensing has tapped Mondo TV as a licensing sub-agent for Feisty Pets in Italy and the Iberian peninsula, and it’s the first time Mondo will handle licensing for a brand that is not linked to a TV series.

Feisty Pets is a line of interactive plush toys that can transform from being friendly to ferocious, with characters displaying fangs, evil grins and funny faces when squeezed. Mondo will extend the brand in the region with a focus on lifestyle products, publishing and collaborations.

It’s been quite a year for the cute/scary playthings. Jazwares was named the IP’s global master toy partner in February, and then in July, Surge inked licensing deals with Global Brand Groups’ AME, BSI and GBG Beauty (bath & beauty products, sleepwear, underwear and hosiery) and with Franco Manufacturing (bedding, bathroom accessories and beach & kitchen textiles). These product ranges are set to hit shelves across North America next year.
