Turner/WB’s co-owned Boomerang SVOD is joining VRV, a fandom-focused aggregation platform run by California’s Otter Media. The partnership brings Boomerang’s library of classic toons and new original series, including Garfield and Friends, Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, into VRV’s library.
Boomerang will be available to VRV subscribers starting on November 13, and newly acquired shows Monchhichi (Technicolor Animation Productions) and Care Bears (Cloudco) will migrate there in 2019 after their premieres.
Earlier this year, VRV signed up to be the premiere launch partner for Nickelodeon’s new SVOD NickSplat, which focuses on classic 1990s content from the kidscaster’s archive, such as All That, Kenan & Kel and Rocko’s Modern Life.
