Genius Brands’ new preschool series Rainbow Rangers is set to premiere on Nick Jr. in the US on November 5.
The 52 x 11-minute CGI toon focuses on Earth’s First Responders as they go on missions to save the environment with their unique powers. Nickelodeon scooped up the series in April for the US and the Caribbean Basin.
Following show launch, consumer products will roll out at major retailers in time for next year’s back-to-school season. Licensees already on board include Mattel’s Fisher-Price as master toy partner, Basic Fun! (collectibles), Spirit Halloween (Halloween costumes) KIDdesigns (youth electronics), Berkshire Fashions (outerwear) and Ceaco (puzzles). The full program spans categories such as collectible dolls, fashion dolls, role-play items, playsets, apparel, publishing, sleepwear, bedding, bath, footwear, bags, backpacks, Halloween costumes and accessories, youth consumer electronics, health and beauty aids, cosmetics and bicycles and ride-ons.
Genius Brands recently raised US$4.5 million in a funding round led by 32 Ventures to support the premiere and pre-production of the show’s second season.
Earlier this year, the California-based company also appointed APC Kids as its exclusive distribution partner in EMEA.
