Canadian toyco Spin Master continues to expand its robotic toy offerings with Playful Pup, the newest addition to its Zoomer range.
The interactive robot pooch features the most advanced voice-recognition technology in the Zoomer portfolio, reacting to its given name and performing 25 tricks including shake a paw and roll over. Additionally, Playful Pup responds to touch and features expressive eyes so kids know how it’s feeling.
Currently available with major retailers for US$99, the Zoomer Playful Pup targets children ages five and older.
Just last month, Spin Master cracked open the new HatchiBabies line, expanding its hit Hatchimals franchise even further. The line features boy and girl characters, as well as secret compartments that reveal additional play opportunities.
These new products follow declines in Spin Master’s Remote Control and Interactive Characters segment in Q2 2018. The segment fell 18.7% to US$68.3 million in the second quarter due to declines in the Hatchimals, Air Hogs and Zoomer brands. The toyco is set to report its Q3 results on November 6.
