Hasbro is launching a toy range inspired by Super Monsters, the original animated preschool series from 41 Entertainment. The toyco’s line will include figures, converting vehicles, role play items and plush, hitting shelves with major retailers on October 5 to coincide with the show’s second-season premiere on Netflix.

Super Monsters stars a group of preschoolers who are humans by day and super-powered monsters by night, with episodic stories focusing on themes of self-control, kindness, respect and friendship.

In other Netflix consumer products news, Silvergate Media will zero in on toys, collectibles, gifts and stationery for its animated adventure series Hilda (pictured). The 13 x 22-minute show premiered on Netflix September 21, and is currently available in 130 countries.

The first consumer products are now available online through print-on-demand platform Zazzle. To round out the offering, Nobrow is launching a tie-in book, a board game is  in production with Brooklyn Game Lab, and an app is due out on October 18. Hilda is co-produced by Silvergate Media and Mercury Films, exploring a magical wilderness full of elves, giants and other mysterious creatures.

Earlier this month, Netflix recruited Christie Fleischer to fill a newly created global head of consumer products role. She is tasked with developing a consumer products portfolio for Netflix original series and films, overseeing retail and licensee partnerships, publishing, interactive games, merchandising and experiential events.
