The Jim Henson Company is moving full steam into a fifth season of its CG-animated preschool series Dinosaur Train. The new episodes will air on PBS KIDS beginning in summer 2019, with previous seasons airing daily on PBS KIDS, PBS Kids 24/7 channel and PBS KIDS digital platforms.
Executive produced by Craig Bartlett alongside Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford for Henson, the show is co-produced by Singapore’s Sparky Animation, with assistance from the Singapore Media Development Authority.
Henson is also responsible for distribution, licensing and merchandising in markets outside of Asia (which Sparky Animation handles). Licensing partners that have signed on over the years include master toy partner Jazwares, which first launched products in 2016, followed by TV Mania (apparel and accessories), GEDA Labels (mealtime products) and Wall-Ah! (wall decals).
PBS, meanwhile, oversees DVD distribution in North American and educational markets.
The show has aired in more than 175 countries, on broadcasters such as TVO and TFO (Canada), Nickelodeon (UK), Disney Channel (Germany), France 5, RTVE Clan (Spain), SVT (Sweden), NRK (Norway), YLE (Finland), Canal+ (Poland) and Channel 1 (Russia).
