Monster signs new broadcast deals for Luna

The animated science series has sold to channels in UK, MENA, Ireland and the Czech Republic, as well as Emirates and Azerbaijan Airlines.

Irish distributor Monster Entertainment has inked a bunch of new broadcast deals for PenGuin Animation’s science-based series Earth to Luna! in MENA, Ireland, the UK and the Czech Republic, as well as on two Middle Eastern airlines.

The new TV partners include Discovery MENA, TG4 (Ireland), CJ E&M Korea’s English Gem (UK), ČESKÁ Televise (Czech Republic) and Emirates and Azerbaijan Airlines.

The US-based arm of Brazilian animation studio TV PinGuim, PenGuin will bring season four of the series to MIP Junior next month, while it continues to work on production of a fifth season.

The 104 x 12-minute animated show currently airs in 96 countries on platforms including Sprout (US), Tiny Pop (UK), RT (Hong Kong), Minika (Turkey), Universal Kids (US), SVT (Sweden) and Discovery Kids. Netflix also acquired global rights (outside of LatAm) to the first season this year, making it the first Brazilian cartoon to air on the SVOD.
