LA-based animation studio ZAG has announced partnerships with Ipanema Sandals and Winning Moves for its ZAG Heroez property Miraculous—Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
Brokered by Gloob Licensing, Brazil’s Ipanema Sandals will develop a footwear range inspired by the original animated TV series, including flip flops for kids and adults, and strap sandals just for kids. The collection will debut at retail in Latin America this November, before rolling out in the US and Europe next April.
In a deal brokered by Bulldog Licensing, Winning Moves will be launching a Miraculous Monopoly Junior game across EMEA in time for the 2018 holiday season.
Miraculous—Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir follows the story of a teenage girl who dreams of becoming a fashion designer and lives a double life as a crime-fighting superhero called Ladybug. The series is co-produced by ZAG and French prodco Method Animation. It’s distributed internationally by PGS Entertainment, Group AB, Zagtoon, Method and SamG Animation. Season two of Miraculous is airing worldwide, and season three is pegged to launch mid-2019. Seasons four and five are now in pre-production.
ZAG’s global superhero franchise is expanding quickly. The company recently closed a three-picture deal to produce live-action feature films entitled Miraculous (2020), Ghost Force and Power Players. And special crossover episodes are now in the works for the brands’ animated series and comic books. Additionally, Barcelona’s Planeta Junior and Amazon Spain joined forces to launch the e-commerce giant’s first cross-category store inspired by Miraculous featuring the show’s characters, toys, stationery, apparel and more.
