Discovery and My Town launch co-branded games

The open-ended game My Town Discovery will feature content from the STEM-focused Discovery #Mindblown brand.

Discovery is partnering with Israel-based My Town Games to create a series of co-branded game apps. The first, My Town Discovery, launches later this summer and will feature a virtual world where kids can hang out with friends or explore.

Aimed at kids ages six to 12, My Town Discovery includes¬†mini games and a Science Discover Museum designed in partnership with Discovery #Mindblown. Launched by Discovery Consumer Products earlier this year, the STEM-centric Discovery #Mindblown brand encompasses toys, games, publishing, apps, apparel and live events.¬†The #Mindblown brand is inspired by Discovery’s programming, including content from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel. The IP is also supported by Discovery Education’s in-school digital curriculum.

My Town Discovery will be available through the App Store and Google Play as a seven-day trial. After the trial, users will have the option to continue playing with a monthly subscription fee. Additional games and adventures will be added to the game in coming months and, initially, there will be no in-app purchases.

My Town Games produces open-ended dollhouse games spanning 104 locations and 50 characters, including Wonderland: Little Mermaid (pictured) and My Little Princess: Fairy Forest.
