Italian producer/distributor Mondo TV has signed a two-year deal with Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC3 to air an Arabic-language version of its new CGI-animated preschool series Cuby Zoo in all Arabic-speaking countries starting in early 2019.

Aimed at two- to five-year-olds, the 52 x 11-minute series tells the story of cube-shaped animal toys that come to life to play and explore their surroundings when humans aren’t around. Co-produced by Mondo TV and South Korea’s Aurora World, the producers are planning to sign a range of licensing agreements inspired by the series.

MBC3 is a free-to-air children’s educational entertainment channel targeting children ages three to 13, under the umbrella MBC Group.

Mondo TV is also working to expand its CGI series Robot Trains in the region, recently signing a three-year deal with Discovery to bring the show’s first two seasons to Discovery’s DKids pay-TV channel in the Middle East. Prior to that it brought the series to the European market with the first season airing daily on Italy’s DeAJunior, a pay-TV channel on the Sky Platform.
