Disney is partnering with Idaho-based fragrance & home décor company Scentsy to launch a range of scented plush toys and fragrance products inspired by Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princess and Finding Nemo.
The scented plush products feature signature fragrances designed to represent various Disney characters. The line’s Winnie the Pooh and Tigger plush figures, for example, boast scents that evoke their home in Hundred Acre Wood.
A number of special-edition products will launch later this month and in August before the full range hits shelves on September 1. The partnership will see Scentsy retail consultants sell the Disney Collection across 11 countries.
The growing scent trend reached Australian toyco Moose Toys last year when it introduced its Pikmi Pops scented plush range. Each Pop includes a scented plush, a sweet message, a dangler stringer and a collector’s guide. MGA Entertainment’s Num Noms scented collectibles line, meanwhile, launched in 2016 and features food-based miniature characters shaped and scented like sweet and salty treats.
