New York-based on-demand distributor Janson Media has picked up the distribution rights for preschool series Crawford the Cat, produced by Crawford’s Corner,  and signed a deal that saw the show premiere on Amazon Prime Video. In addition to being available globally with Amazon, the series will bow on a range of educational digital platforms across the US, including Discovery Education and Safari Montage.

The first 13 x five-minute season of Crawford the Cat is aimed at kids ages three to seven, with a focus on education. Episodes feature lessons on personal grooming, manners, exercise and nutrition. Additional half-hour and hour-long specials are currently in production.

The agreement was brokered by Alita Friedman, CEO of Alita’s Brand Bar. Friedman is also responsible for the property’s global merchandise licensing program and brand development.

Last year, Janson Media inked a deal with London-based Looi to make its animated preschool series Looi available to Amazon Prime subscribers. The show is available through Amazon’s SVOD and AVOD services both in the US and globally.
