STX Entertainment and licensing agency White Space Entertainment have inked a number of agreements for the UglyDolls brand ahead of the property’s upcoming feature film, which is slated for a May 2019 release.

New licensing partners include H.E.R. Accessories (jewelry and accessories), Jacob Company (bags and hats), Zinc (theatrical premiums), ACCO Brands (calendars), Trends International (activity kits, stationery and stickers), Stamatis Ioannidis & Son (apparel, bedding, accessories and bags) and Palphot Marketing (stationery).

Key categories for the consumer products program will include toys, apparel, accessories, health and beauty, back-to-school, stationery and consumer electronics. Products are expected to launch globally next March, and will target kids ages six to 11.

These agreements come shortly after Hasbro was tapped as global master toy partner for the UglyDolls franchise, and the toymaker’s upcoming range will focus on immersive play experiences based on the Uglyverse characters. Additionally, DHX Media’s CPLG was recently appointed as EMEA licensing agent for the brand.

STX is also working on a number of UglyDolls projects across its company divisions (including STXdigital, STXsurreal and STXtelevision) and is currently in talks with a broadcast partner for an all-new UglyDolls animated series that’s scheduled to bow in 2020.
