Irish distributor Monster Entertainment has signed new broadcast deals for the first season of Sun In Eye Productions’ non-dialog series Pikkuli.

The 26 x five-minute preschool toon has been picked up by Globosat (Brazil), Al Jazeera (Qatar), LXL Ideas (India) and JY Animation (China) for exclusive VOD. The second season is currently in development.

The series is based on the book Fly, Pikkuli, Fly! by author Metsämarja Aittokoski and illustrator Elli Vuorinen. Monster acquired Pikkuli‘s distribution rights in 2014, at which time it secured presales to YLE (Finland), TV2 (Norway), ERR (Estonia), HRT (Croatia), RTVS (Slovakia) and Public Latvian Television.

Recently, Monster also signed a raft of deals for I’m a Fish to TVO and Knowledge Network (Canada), Hopster (the UK), Horng En Culture Co. (Taiwan) and CJ E&M (Korea) and in-flight entertainment on Emirates and Aer Lingus airlines.
