UK pubcaster CBeebies has commissioned Happy Tent Tales, the first original series from London’s Ivy House Productions.

Set to premiere this spring, Happy Tent Tales features a collection of global folktales that are narrated by actor Karina O’Malley through movement, music and rhyme. The traditional stories will hail from 16 countries spanning India, Europe, China, South America and Africa.

Produced in collaboration with Nickwilson.tv and Flying Elephant, the 20 x 7.5-minute live-action series focuses on nature, kindness, friendship and courage.

Ivy House Productions was recently launched by former Channel 5 children’s boss Jessica Symons, who serves as producer and director for Happy Tent Tales. Ivy House’s Nick Wilson is the show’s lead writer and executive producer in charge of script and story, while Julia Bond is executive producer for CBeebies.
