The Kids and Global Networks division of Canadian producer, distributor and channel operator Blue Ant Media is expanding to EMEA with the hiring of Chiara McKee as VP for the region. McKee’s appointment comes as Blue Ant secures new carriage deals for its family-friendly nature channels ZooMoo and Love Nature.

In her new role, McKee will lead channel distribution sales, operations and marketing efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Love Nature 4K, Love Nature HD and ZooMoo (HD), as well as Blue Ant’s animated and live-action YouTube gaming channel, Arcade Cloud. Based in London, she will report directly to Kids and Global Networks CEO Ward Platt.

McKee most recently served as director of Love Nature International, where she oversaw marketing and brand partnerships for Love Nature’s international linear channels and streaming video platform outside of Canada. She was previously director of international marketing and operations at Trace TV, and senior marketing manager of branded OTT services at NBC Universal.

As for Blue Ant’s first EMEA carriage deals for Love Nature and ZooMoo, the former’s 4K channel has been snapped up by Ooredoo TV’s new UHD linear service in Qatar, while the latter will head to Nigeria on English-speaking TV provider MyTV. McKee will look for further sales opportunities when she joins Blue Ant Media at MIPTV next month in Cannes.

The EMEA expansion follows the division’s ongoing worldwide growth, particularly in LATAM and US-Hispanic markets, where former Fox exec Julio Sobral was appointed regional GM earlier this year. Blue Ant also bolstered the presence of its kids channels in Asia Pacific with the recent hiring of Beatrice Lee as CEO for BAM Asia.
