Nickelodeon has joined forces with Live Nation to launch its first US SlimeFest music festival, a two-day immersive event for kids and families that will kick off on June 9 in Chicago, Illinois.

Headliners for the event include DJ and producer Zedd, former One Direction member Liam Payne, Flo Rida and Lip Sync Battle Shorties host JoJo Siwa (pictured). There will also be performances by Nickelodeon stars Kel Mitchell and Benjamin Flores Jr. (Game Shakers), Riele Downs and Ella Anderson (Henry Danger), and Breanna Yde (School of Rock). Plus the festival will feature immersive, one-of-a-kind experiences that have yet to be revealed…and plenty of green slime.

The kidsnet’s inaugural US event follows on the heels of previous global SlimeFest initiatives, including one held in Australia in 2012. In fact, more than 100,000 people have attended Nickelodeon SlimeFests worldwide.

Localizing SlimeFest in the US comes at a time when live events for kids and families are increasingly popular. Nickelodeon recently moved further into this category with the launches of live shows PAW Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure and PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue.
