New York-based WOW! Unlimited Media’s Frederator Studios has acquired rights to develop and pitch an animated series based on the children’s book Catlantis (pictured) by Russian author Anna Starobinets.

Catlantis hit book shelves in 2015 and follows Baguette, a house cat that travels through time to marry the love of his life and restore peace to an ancient fabled city.

The upcoming toon will be story edited by Brydie Lee-Kennedy (The Amazing World of Gumball, Bravest Warriors). The series marks the latest project from Frederator Studios, which was founded in 1988 by former Hanna-Barbera president Fred Seibert. The company has produced Butch Hartman’s The Fairly OddParents for Nickelodeon, Pendleton Ward’s Adventure Time on Cartoon Network, and Netflix’s Castlevania. Frederator also recently released The Summoning, the first of 12 short film projects developed from GO! Cartoons, the company’s co-pro incubator with Sony Pictures Animation.

A release date and broadcasting partnerships for the series have yet to be announced.
