Illinois-based Spiffy Pictures has announced a number of launches and partnerships—including a new toy line—for its PBS KIDS series Nature Cat.
The upcoming toy range from master toy partner TOMY will include plush and role-play products. New feature plush, for example, allows children to hear 13 fan-favorite Nature Cat phrases when they press on the animal’s belly.
The toy line comes as new episodes from the show’s second season will debut on PBS KIDS through the first quarter of 2018. Airing twice daily on PBS stations across the US and available though streaming services like PBSKids.org, Amazon and YouTube, the series follows the titular character as he embarks on adventures with his friends in the great outdoors.
Nature Cat is also expanding its digital footprint with a trio of new online games. Fine Feathered Feast gives kids the chance to feed wild birds, with new breeds introduced in each level. Two more games are set to launch this year on PBSKids.org.
Additionally, Spiffy Pictures has inked an agreement with Kohl’s Children’s Museum to produce a national museum tour that will bring the world of Nature Cat to kids across the US next year. The museum tour comes as location-based brand extensions continue to grow in popularity, with shows like Nelvana’s Ranger Rob and eOne’s PJ Masks launching live productions.
