Germany’s Studio 100 Media and Spanish entertainment company Planeta Junior are expanding their partnership with a distribution and co-production agreement. The deal will see the companies collaborate on five new productions for Studio 100/m4e, as well as two productions for Planeta Junior, including certain co-production and distribution rights for all companies.

Planeta Junior will obtain exclusive distribution rights to m4e series Mia and me (pictured) in a number of European territories. m4e acquired 100% of the rights to the animated show from its co-production partner Gerhard Hahn and his studio Hahn Film earlier this month. Moving forward, Planeta Junior will handle all media and merchandising rights to the show in Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey and Cyprus, as well as distribution of all merchandising rights in Eastern Europe (excluding CIS- and Baltic territories).

Studio 100 Media/m4e, meanwhile, will take over distribution rights to the action/comedy series Gormiti in Benelux, German-speaking Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and the Middle East. Based on the toy property of the same name, the show is currently in production and set for delivery later this year with Planeta Junior as co-producer.

Additionally, Studio 100 Media/m4e will also be responsible for distributing another upcoming Planeta Junior production in its territories. As of early last year, Studio 100 owns a 68% stake in m4e.
