Montreal, Canada-based Apartment 11 and Canadian pubcaster TVOKids have launched a new series that follows the lives of children living in Indigenous communities.

Premiering today on TVOKids, Raven’s Quest (20 x seven minutes) will air on Mondays and Wednesday evenings, with repeat eps on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and on weekends at noon.

Each episode sees an animated raven joining a young host in his or her daily life, where activities include cooking, fishing, drumming, basket-weaving, making regalia and dancing. Apartment 11 consulted with Indigenous advisers while making the series, and worked with each family to capture real moments.

The Raven’s Quest TV premiere will be accompanied by a free online game that teaches kids how Indigenous culture is passed down through generations. Players will complete quests to help animals retrieve missing objects that Raven has hidden in each community.

Raven’s Quest is the fifth co-pro for Apartment 11 and TVOKids, following such kids series as The Mystery Files and Finding Stuff Out.
