From February 10 to 25, Universal Studios Hollywood plans to celebrate Lunar New Year with some help from DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda characters. Attractions at the California theme park will include a new Dragon Warrior Training show, the opening of a replica Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop and the return of a Mandarin-speaking Transformers’ MEGATRON.
Universal Plaza, a polygon-shaped piazza in the middle of the park, will house the activities complete with red Chinese lanterns, plum blossom Wishing Trees and the 12 zodiac animal signs.
Based on the Kung Fu Panda franchise, a new stage performance entitled Dragon Warrior Training will also take place at the DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda Jade Palace Performance Stage. The experience includes an interactive martial arts demonstration performed by lead character Po, and veteran DreamWorks animators will show off techniques used to draw the characters from the franchise.
Last June, Universal Studios announced the 2018 launch of a DreamWorks Theater attraction at the Hollywood park. The theater is created in partnership with Universal Creative and DreamWorks Artists, and will initially focus on a Kung Fu Panda multi-sensory adventure with state-of-the-art projection mapping and LED lighting effects.
